APEX, NC – JANUARY 2006 -- Weller®, a Cooper Hand Tools brand, has introduced the Weller® DXV80 inline desoldering pencil for desoldering through-hole components on printed circuit boards (PCBs). The pencil features a disposable solder trap making cleanout fast, efficient, and inexpensive.
The pencil uses Weller’s new patented threadless DX series desoldering tiplets, which will not seize to the heater. The tips are changed with the included hex tool by making a simple quarter turn to remove the tip.
The DXV80 inline desoldering tool is available as part of a wide range of desoldering and SMT rework equipment. These systems feature digital electronics, and a choice of fast acting compressed air or self-contained pumps.
The DXV80 desoldering tool features an 80-watt heater for fast heat-up and superior thermal recovery. The inline design allows for efficient desoldering with no clogging. The delay feature allows the pump to run two seconds after the desoldering cycle to ensure that the molten solder reaches the solder trap before solidifying. The DXV80 is available through production supply distributors and through catalog houses.
